We were regularly treated by Dr. Hilty for several months and it was the best thing we ever did for ourselves. Dr. Hilty made it possible for us to be real with her, be thoroughly understood and totally accepted. Her ethics were impeccable and her skills were so helpful that each of us felt hopeful right away and soon began to improve. In each of our cases, our personal power grew stronger than our problems, we resolved old issues, felt happier and more confident, and were back on track in our lives 100%. ~ Joel Diamond, social worker, and Doris Diamond, teacher [New York, USA ]

I worked with Anne in a hospital-based detox & rehab. It was always a pleasure to conference with her about our patients. I met Dr Anne Hilty in early 2006 when I relocated to South Korea for work; among the 40 staff members in my department, there were people from the USA, Greece, Poland, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Uzbekistan, Morocco and Serbia (myself). Dr. Hilty met with us several times and helped us settle into the new cultural setting and understand and deal with culture shock, and thus adapt easily! ~ Aleksandra Minic [South Korea]

It was truly a pleasure and honor to have been able to serve with Dr Anne Hilty on the Paju English Village Community Development Team. Dr Hilty has a very professional, but also personal and soothing manner. She pays great attention to detail as to ensure that all facets of an issue are thoroughly looked at and dealt with. She speaks not only from her experience in the field but also from her vast array of knowledge.
Dr Hilty was also the Head of the HR Department of Paju English Village, while I served as the Content Area Leader of the Drama Department. Dr Hilty helped me to improve the team work within our Drama Department and also provided guidance during a period of conflict resolution. Dr Hilty made me aware of the importance of cultural sensitivity / cultural differences and how this could lead to miscommunication, stress and conflict. She made me aware of the vital role that culture plays in an individual’s social and vocational life. I realized that I could not deal with issues from a Western perspective; I had to make a paradigm shift and expand my knowledge of Korean and Asian culture in order to lead my team better.
I would wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone who is thinking of seeing a psychologist. ~ Elizabeth Grobler, teacher [South Africa]

I have been very impressed with the work Dr. Hilty does. The students in her courses have diverse backgrounds and diverse ability levels. Dr. Hilty teaches using a variety of methods in order to reach each and every student. She works hard to ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn and to show what they know. Dr. Hilty is very interested in student needs and preferences. This indicates the interest Dr. Hilty has in working with her students and being the best teacher she can possibly be. ~ Susan Tammaro, PhD, Program Coordinator, Psychology Department, Regis College [Boston, USA]

Gyeonggi English Village is the place where in 2006 I had the chance to meet Dr Anne Hilty. We were colleagues for a year and I have to confess that, without her help, the South Korean experience would not have been the same.
For me and for my other European colleagues, being in South Korea meant living in a totally different society than our own. This factor, together with the extreme work conditions and with the fact of being very far from our families, made it very difficult for us to be there.
But we were very lucky to have Anne amongst us. She helped me and my colleagues to learn and to accept the cultural differences. More than that, Anne gave the necessary psychological guidance in order for us to live intensively the South Korean experience.
Gyeonggi English Village represented a new immersion environment for learning English and it was the first of its kind in Asia. We were over 200 teachers from all over the world, with different backgrounds, with different expectations and personalities. Therefore, the conflicts were very frequent and together with Anne and other colleagues we set up a Conflict Resolution team that tried to find ways for preventing and resolving conflicts. Without Anne’s coordination and support we would not have accomplished so many projects that helped all of us to accept other colleagues more easily.
Anne was not only a colleague, but also a friend and a tutor. Thank you Anne for everything. ~ Irina Mihalcut, UNHCR [Malta]
